Missouri Pacific® Road Number MP 90257 This 50' box car with double doors run on black Bettendorf trucks. The MP is a major class I railroad. Mainlines extend from Chicago to El Paso and New Orleans to Denver, with junctions at St. Louis, Kansas City and Dallas. MP is the largest carrier of chemicals. The Missouri Pacific, or MOP for short, was a consolidation of smaller railroads starting in 1870. Surviving the Jay Gould era of the 1880’s, it moved ahead continuing to merge with other lines until its final merger with Union Pacific on Dec. 22, 1982.
