This boxcar red 50' standard boxcar with double Youngstown doors displays large white "Spokane Portland and Seattle" lettering with the "Spokane Portland and Seattle Ry" oval logo and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. Financed by the GN and NP, the SP&S Railway was incorporated in 1908. Tracks went from Portland to Pasco via the northern bank of the Columbia, and thence along the edge of the Coulees and the Palouse to Spokane along the north bank of the Columbia River. Traffic throughout the lifetime of the road was mostly grain west, lumber east. The road that was known as "The Northwest's Own Railway" ended at BN's birth.
