This 40' despatch stock car is painted bright yellow with black lettering and logo. It was one of a 492-car series built in October 1937 by Missouri-Kansas-Texas at the Denison shop and serviced one month later. Its trucks are black Bettendorfs. M-K-T began its history as the Southern Branch of the Union Pacific Railway. It changed its name to the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway in 1870. The Katy ultimately merged with Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1988. |
