This 40' despatch stock car is painted GN 'Big Sky Blue' and large white 'Great Northern' letters with white stenciling and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. 145 single deck cars were originally built as 40' steel/wood sheathed box cars between 1937 and 1942. Built in March 1942 and rebuilt as a single deck stock car 56421 was one of the few stock cars serviced and repainted Big Sky Blue during July 1969.
