Canadian Pacific
Road Number CP 503201
This 57' 6" converted TOFC flat car is painted black with white "Canadian Pacific" lettering and runs on black Roller Bearing trucks. Specifically equipped to carry trailers for the transportation of freight in TOFC/COFC service, this car came equipped with a depression in the deck for trailer wheels. The Canadian Pacific Railway was founded in 1881. Previous to World War II, the railways had provided almost universal freight and passenger services. Following the war, cars, trucks, and airplanes started to take traffic away from railways. This helped the CPR’s air and trucking operations, and the railway's freight operations continued hauling resource traffic and bulk commodities.
