This 51' rib side mechanical reefer is an aluminum roof, reefer orange sides and black ends with black lettering and black broken 'E' diamond logo and runs on black Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in December of 1967, this car was one of twenty RPLs delivered to the EL without roofwalks. The AAR car type "RPL" is a mechanical refrigerator. The Erie Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad were merged on October 17, 1960. The new Erie-Lackawanna adopted the rectangular Lackawanna logo and added the Erie diamond. The result was an encircled broken "E" within a diamond.
