This 40' standard box car with single door and no roofwalk is painted green with large orange 'MEC' and 'The Pine Tree Route' herald. Lettering on the car is orange. The door is painted orange with green lettering. It was built in October 1947, serviced in December 1969, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. The car came equipped with lading band anchors, used in newsprint paper service. Originally part of the MEC 6500-6749 series, this is one of the cars from the series sold from 1969 to 1971 and leased back as the 5000-5199 series.
