This three bay Centerflow® covered hopper with round hatches is painted black with white lettering. The lower sill bears the ARI Centerflow lettering and logo in blue, yellow reflectors and white lettering. It was built in November 2005 by American Railcar Industries and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Sid Richardson Carbon & Energy Co. is based in Texas and sells carbon black on a global basis. Carbon black is a material produced by the incomplete combustion of heavy petroleum products. The most common use of carbon black is as a pigment and reinforcing phase in automobile tires. Carbon black particles are also employed in some radar absorbent materials and in photocopier and laser printer toner.
