These three-bay Centerflow covered hoppers with elongated hatches are painted brown with aluminum roofwalks and hatches. The cars are decorated with white BNSF 'wedge' logos, white lettering and yellow warning lettering. They were built in Januaury 2006 and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. The BNSF Railway was formed December 31, 1996, as the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway when the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe merged with the Burlington Northern Railroad. On January 24, 2005, the railroad’s name was officially changed to BNSF Railway.
