It boasts "Cushion Underframe" in white and the slogan "Illinois Central Mainline of Mid America" in black. 40' hy-cubes were specifically designed for use in large appliance service and were assigned to specific appliance corporations, Whirlpool, Admiral, Philco, etc. The mini hy-cube phase was short lived, and was quickly overshadowed by longer and bigger cars.
